BLOG

After sending some Mouthman shirts to this family last year, one of our customers emailed an update today... it wasn't good news.
I'd like to share a bit of Sam's story here with you-- there is a link to click to visit his families blog to share your own thoughts and personal support.

"The little things? The little moments? They aren't little." - Jon Kabat-Zinn

-a super kid facing a super big deal -
-a little hero traveling through his own very special journey, his loving family with him at every stride,
his parents documenting the perils, the pitfalls, the joy in the midst of wrenching fear.
We've never met Sam in person,  but feel love and compassion for him and his family as they face this experience head on.

In June of 2012,  6 yr old Sam Sommer was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

On August 27, 2013 he received a bone marrow transplant.

.

Sam's Hebrew name is Shmuel Asher ben haRav Pesah Esther
Pray in whatever language you know and love. God will understand."  Sam's mother, Phyliss Sommer

On November 13, 2013 , Sam's family announced that the cancer had returned.

His mothers words:

"Sam has relapsed.

His ninja leukemia is so very strong.
It has reared its head in his bone marrow and in some extramedullary spots on his jaw and head.
There is no cure.
There is no treatment."

"Time is all we have. You may find one day that you have less than you think." ~ Randy Pausch

As Sam and his family teach us lessons of hope, grace, generosity, positivity, humor, and feverishly, fiercely embracing today, (nee- the essence of every moment!! ), please join us as in sharing our positive thoughts and prayers for them .  I  wish we could do so much more than send a few shirts to make them smile.

May we all wish them all the comfort and togetherness that they can possibly be blessed with on this his final journey--

Godspeed little big one- you set the bar high. We salute your fierce.

Love,  your friends at Mouthman.

Sam, you are such a brave young man. My Father too has AML – I have a feeling you are stronger than he ever was as an “adult”. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers❣ッ

My heart breaks for Sam, his parents , David, Yael, and Solly. I am praying for a miracle….and wishing there was more I could do :’(
